As a Senior Assistant City Attorney in the nuisance abatement section of the City Attorney’s office, Sarah Pomeroy brings a wealth of legal expertise and a deep commitment to public service to her candidacy for Ohio State Representative for District 10. 

Raised in Columbus and Worthington by Mark and Rosemary, with brother Michael, Sarah’s journey in law began in the nation’s capital, where she practiced for three years before returning to her hometown. During her tenure at the prestigious law firm of Jones Day, she represented companies in a diverse array of legal matters, specializing in antitrust and complex corporate litigation. However, her dedication extended beyond corporate law, as she passionately engaged in pro bono work, advocating for clients seeking asylum, navigating social security benefits, and pursuing clemency and federal habeas relief. Notably, she also served as a guardian ad litem in child-custody disputes–carrying on her mother’s legacy of fighting for families–and showcasing her commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of our most vulnerable community members. For almost 5 years with the city, Sarah prosecutes property owners exploiting low-income residents through substandard housing and safety, and collaborates with businesses, community groups, and law enforcement to make Columbus neighborhoods safer. 

Sarah’s dedication to community service extends beyond her professional endeavors. Actively involved in her legal and student communities, she has focused her efforts on key areas such as education, voting rights, and upholding the rule of law. Her passion for these critical issues underscores her commitment to building a more just and equitable society for all.
